Horse riding

Body, mind and character in one discipline.

A complete sport: it tones, strengthens the heart and is as demanding as running or cycling. But it also teaches calm, self-control and the discipline of taking the reins — on and off the arena.

Summer pony courses

Summer is also a time to keep riding.

Frequently asked questions about our riding school

Do I need to be a CHAS member to join the riding school?

No. The CHAS riding school also welcomes non-members, with a range of courses and lesson packages.

At what age can children start horse riding?

Children can start from the age of 5. Lessons are adapted to their age and ability, with suitable ponies and horses for each stage of learning.

I have never ridden before. Can I join?

Yes. Lessons range from beginner to advanced level, so no previous experience is required. Each student joins the appropriate level and progresses at their own pace.

Are there riding lessons for adults?

Yes. The school is not just for children. Young people and adults can start riding with no previous experience, or continue their training if they already ride.

Do I need my own horse?

No. The school has ponies and horses for different abilities, from beginner to advanced level, so you do not need your own horse to learn or keep progressing.

How many days a week can I ride?

There are different options to suit each student, with packages of 4, 8 or 12 lessons, as well as private lessons. Lessons run from Tuesday to Sunday.

Can I try a lesson before joining?

Yes. You can take a free trial lesson to get to know the school and experience horse riding before deciding how to continue.
